READING DURING THE SUMMER ENCOURAGED BY PAVLOV

Don't let the outdoor summer activities stop you from enjoying a good book.  State Senator Phil Pavlov of St. Clair Township is encouraging students to keep reading through the warmest months by sponsoring a Be a Senator for a Day summer reading contest.  The contest is done in coordination with St. Clair County and Lapeer County libraries.  It starts today and it's open to first through fifth grade students who are enrolled in any public, private or home-based school.  Once students have completed the summer reading program, they can fill out a contest entry form at any public library branch in those counties.  One winner from each branch will be selected to bring their parents to Lansing for a tour of the state Capital, as well as mock committee hearings and a pizza party.
