It's about time... that's for a complete resurfacing of the Fred Moore Highway that's going to start Monday. The work means a closure of Fred Moore east of I-94 to about 2-thousand feet east of Mayer Road. St. Clair County Road Commission Director, Kirk Weston, says the job is a long time in coming, but with the road millage that was passed, it can finally get done. The road will be closed completely through the 24th of June, with access for local residents and businesses maintained within the construction zone. The detour will be Wadhams Road to I-94. When it reopens drivers should expect some lane closures and flag people at the site. He says the project is expected to be complete by July 22nd. Some other projects going on with road millage funds include Yale Road in Greenwood Township, Palms Road in Casco Township, and starting next month, work along the Marine City Highway.
