GASOLINE PRICE HIKES CONTINUE
Looks like $4.15 a gallon, for gas, was a bargain. Wednesday, saw local pump prices shooting up again, with many in the Blue Water Area now asking $4.29 a gallon, for regular unleaded. Kyle Lawrence, at the local By/Lo oil company in Kimball Township, says drivers can blame the price increase on a few key factors, including the switch from the winter blends of fuel to the summer blend, as well as repair problems at refineries that supply gasoline for the much of the Midwest. Lawrence says, once the Midwest refineries can come fully back online then, the prices should lower a bit. He says it's not local retailers that are deciding the prices, but rather the wholesale market for gas.
