WEAVING A WEB ACROSS THE COUNTY
It's a high speed digital world these days, and if you don't have access to it, you're going to be left out. With that in mind, St. Clair County now begins a big push to get more wired up, with everything from government to businesses, schools, libraries and even senior centers being prepared for faster internet connectivity. An event Thursday at the county administration building saw an announcement about a certification that allows the county to access state and federal funds, with officials talking about the need to get everyone cybered-up. County Administrator Bill Kauffman says what comes next is lobbying state legislators to help with getting fast internet connections throughout the county. He says it could take two years to implement.
