COMMISSIONERS MEET WITH STATE AND FEDERAL REPS
State and county officials met Monday for their quarterly legislative luncheon, with a few items of note on the agenda. In attendance were 5 of the 7 county commissioners, plus local state House and Senate members, with County Administrator, Bill Kauffman, saying one item to see discussion was that of finding enough money to fix the state's ailing roads and bridges. Another topic to see discussion yesterday, was about a proposal from border security that's examining instituting a fee for crossing the US and Canadian border, which Kauffman says would have an adverse effect on the local economy. The next legislative lunch is set for August.
