You gotta have art, and next month will see plenty of it along the banks of the Black River and along Quay Street in downtown Port Huron with the 3rd annual Art On The River event coming up Saturday and Sunday June 8th and 9th. Trina Avedisian off local group Citizens for a Vibrant Community tells us over 50 artists will be out displaying their works and more than 30 bands will be performing. Avedisian tells us Detroit-area band Sponge were to be the music headliners, but had to bow out due to other commitments. Instead, the headliners on Saturday night June 8th will be The Steepwater Band, performing a mix of rock and blues. Also, the Michigan Vietnam Veterans Traveling Memorial will be on display during the event, as sponsored by a local veteran's group. The event will also feature food, beverages, and other attractions.
