He can't make it to the Port Huron Northern prom, but singer Bruno Mars still made a local teen's dream come true this week as she was able to attend a taping of the Ellen DeGeneres show in California where she met and danced with her idol. 16-year old Emily Torres of Fort Gratiot Township posted a video on YouTube last year, pleading with Mars to take her to the prom in March. She also lobbied the Ellen show to help her meet the singer, and was invited to attend a taping that featured an appearance by Mars this week. The singer told her he was sorry that his schedule wouldn't let him take her to the prom, but he said that his "friends" at Gucci would also make her a special dress, just for the occasion. Mars also surprised the teen with a dance on stage in a prom like setting. As the music came up Mars changed into a tuxedo and danced with Emily. The show was broadcast Tuesday afternoon.
