Saint Clair County Commissioners gathered Thursday night for their organizational meeting and decided to retain Jeff Bohm as Chairman. Committee assignments were given and the oath of office taken for the seven elected members....two of whom...Tom Reilly, and Karl Tomion are new members...although Reilly is a former member and Tomion is well versed in government work having been a City Manager in a handful of cities including Port Huron. Committee chairs announced were Bill Graytop, Public Safety / Judiciary , David Rushing for Ways and Means, Tom Reilly on Human Services, and Howard Heidemann heads up Environmental. As is always the case an update on the convention center project was given with Bohm noting it may be awhile before we see a final design for the facility. He says it could be a year and a half before completion of that portion of the project. The Baker College piece of a culinary school is well underway and is expected to be at least partially opened soon. Hilton has officially signed off as the franchise at the Inn and the first management hiring's for the restaurant are expected soon.
