FATAL CRASH IN BURTCHVILLE TOWNSHIP

A 71-year-old Lexington man was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident on M-25 south of Fisher Road in Burtchville Township.  Around 5:55 yesterday evening a Jeep being driven by a 22-year-old was traveling southbound when he lost control, crossed the center line and struck a pick-up being driven by the Lexington man.  The Jeep driver was taken to Port Huron Hospital and then transferred to McLaren Mt. Clemens with serious injuries.  The roads were snow covered and slippery at the time.  Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor.  Throughout the rest of the evening the St. Clair County Sheriff reports numerous fender benders occurred until the snow stopped and the roads were cleared.  None reported as serious.
