CITY MANAGER CONTRACT BEFORE COUNCIL

Port Huron City Councilmembers may be extending City Manager Bruce Brown's contract into January of 2014 tonight. The seven member board is looking at a proposal that would see both sides agree that this would be last extension. Brown has been with the city since 2009 and the salary for the extension is pegged at just over 113-thousand dollars a year. The contract stipulates that the extension should give council time to find a replacement. Other items before the board tonight include a Brownfield Development Plan for the convention center project and the establishment of a Neighborhood Redevelopment Zone for the old Ben's Furniture location. Council meets tonight at 7:00 pm. Marysville City Council also has a regular meeting with a light agenda at 7:30 pm.
