The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects Lake Huron to fall below historic low water levels within a few months. Their latest statistics for the Lake show levels some 26-inches below normal. September figures also show Lake Saint Clair off by 13-inches. Levels were last this low in the mid-1960’s. Part of the reason is the lack of normal precipitation with the Lake Superior basin having received only 46% of average precipitation during the month of September.
