CONVENTION CENTER AGAIN ON COUNTY AGENDA

While the Thomas Edison Inn may be no more in name, the developments taking place along the St. Clair River shoreline are sure being talked about as residents take note of the renovations going on at the site.  The St. Clair County Board of Commissioners meet this week for their committee sessions, with Chair Jeff Bohm saying the coming Blue Water Area Convention Center, plus the culinary school for Baker College, along with the rehabilitated hotel and a new restaurant are signs that things are picking up in the local area in terms of economic development, investment, and creating new attractions. Bohm says it's exciting to see the city of Port Huron, the county board and others like the Acheson Ventures group and the local Community Foundation taking the lead in forming private and public partnerships to create jobs and push things forward.
