ROBOTICS TEAM RANKS HIGH IN STATE COMPETITION



Team 3667, made up of students from Central Middle School, Northern, and Port Huron High, are ranked 36th in Michigan after competing in the FIRST Robotics State Championship April 10-12th. Wings Can't Solve Bruins


The Detroit Red Wings offense is struggling and has scored just twice in three playoff games against the Boston Bruins.  Boston took a 3-0 win at Joe Louis Arena on Tuesday night, to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.  Game four is in Detroit on Thursday.

Sox Top Tigers


The Chicago White Sox scored all three of their runs in the seventh inning to beat the Detroit Tigers 3-1 on Monday night.  Anibal Sanchez had allowed just one hit through the first six innings, before allowing three doubles and a single in the seventh.  Game two of a four game series is Tuesday night at Comerica Park.

Bruins Get Even


The Boston Bruins beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-1 on Eastern Sunday in game two of their best-of-seven playoff series.  The series is now tied at 1-1 with game three in Detroit on Tuesday.  Luke Glendening scored the lone goal for the Wings.

Tigers Top Angels 2-1


Despite only five hits, the Detroit Tigers eked out a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Easter Sunday at Comerica Park.  Rick Porcello went seven innings for the win, allowed just one run on five hits.  Joe Nathan picked up a save, striking out two in the ninth.  The Tigers took two out of three in the series and host the Chicago White Sox on Monday night in game one of a four

Falcons Can't Score


For the second night in a row the Port Huron Fighting Falcons were frustrated by Trevor Gorsuch, who made 28 saves for his second shutout in a row.  The Michigan Warriors beat the Falcons 3-0 at McMorran Arena to take a 2-0 series lead in the best-of-five North Division Final.  Tyler Groat had two goals for the Warriors, who host game three in Flint on Friday, April 25.

Tigers Clip Halos


Nick Castellanos and Victor Martinez hit home runs as the Detroit Tigers beat the Los Angeles Angels 5-2 on Satuday at Comerica Park.  Max Scherzer struck out nine over seven innings and allowed just one run for the win.  The final game of a three game series is set for Sunday afternoon.
