Santa Parade 2011

SANTA PARADE, CHILLY FEST SAVED BY CITY RECREATION

Looks like Port Huron City Recreation will be heading up the Santa Parade this year in Port Huron as well as the Chilly Fest.  That's the word from City Manager Bruce Brown who issued a press release late last week indicating a decision had been made on who would organize the events.  Both were in jeopardy as changes are afloat with organizations that are promoting downtown.  A Mainstreet organization is being re-organized and the Downtown Development Authority is being charged with overseeing the production of major events like the Blue Water Fest and the Power Boat Races.  The press release indicates the traditional day after Thanksgiving Santa Parade will be held in December and the Chilly Fest in January.
