A regular session tonight for the Port Huron City Council will see them considering using $15-thousand dollars in mitigation funds from the Michigan Department of Transportation for a new Maritime Center.  City Manager Bruce Brown says if the council approves the item, funding for it would also be coming from other sources including the county and Acheson Ventures.  AV first built the structure as a temporary one and opened it in 2006. Brown says if the item moves forward it would be a great fit for the city and another tourist attraction.  He says the old center will likely remain open until the new facility is built. In other business the City Council has before them the chance at purchasing a small fire boat paid in large part via a Port Security Grant.  Marysville City Council, which also meets tonight, has a similar resolution before them.  Marysville councilmembers will also be looking at a contract to replace the roof of the city's Community Center.
