Scherzer Helps Tigers Close Gap



Max Scherzer pitched eight shutout innings, allowing just four hits and striking out nine, to help the Detroit Tigers move to with in one game of first place.  The Tigers beat the Chicago White Sox 5-1 on Saturday night.  Miguel Cabrera had three hits and drove in two runs, while Delmon Young added a triple and a home run.  Rookie Avisail Garcia got his first big league hit, with an RBI single in the fifth inning.  The final game of a three game series is set for Sunday night.
