ST. JOSEPH MERCY PORT HURON ANNOUNCES NEW PRESIDENT & CEO




Officials with the St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron Board of Trustees have announced that effective immediately Rebekah Smith, RN, has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron.  Smith, since 2008, has served as Vice President of Ancillary Services where she led the organization through numerous growth, performance improvement, leadership building, customer service and financial initiatives. Her career includes working locally in the health care industry, as well as serving in both direct care and clinical leadership positions at Mercy Hospital from 1980 to 1989, and again from 1993 to 1997.  In her previous work, Smith also was nursing instructor for both associate degree and licensed practical nursing programs at St. Clair County Community College.  She earned an Associate Nursing degree from St. Clair County Community College, as well as a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from Siena Heights University, and a Master of Healthcare Administration degree from Central Michigan University.
