FALL HARVEST DAYS AT THE ST. CLAIR COUNTY FARM MUSEUM
This past weekend saw the return of Fall Harvest Days at the St. Clair County Farm Museum in Goodells where fans of agriculture's past, antique tractors and other memorabilia of farming history were on display. Families and friends participated in the three day event that saw demonstrations on wood carving, saw mill threshing as well as spinning and weaving. Along with the usual array of interactive demonstrations, an antique tractor show and the Run for the Corn 5K came new additions to the Fall Harvest Days such as a baking contest judged by area law enforcement officials and a scarecrow building competition. Other activities included live music, watermelon seed spitting contest, barrel train rides and horse drawn wagon rides through the old fashioned village. The St. Clair County Farm Museum looks to provide the public with an understanding of the agricultural heritage of St. Clair County. Fall Harvest Days is presented each year in August.
