The Detroit Tigers opened a nine game home stand on Friday night with a 5-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Miguel Cabrera drove in the first run with a solo home run and Prince Fielder provided the rest of the scoring with a pair of two-run homers. Fielder's first home run went over 460 feet and tied the score at 3-3 in the sixth. Fielder then went deep down the right field line in the eighth putting the Tigers ahead 5-3. Game two of a three game series is set for Saturday at Comerica Park.
