Justin Verlander tied his career high with 14 strike outs as the Detroit Tigers beat the New York Yankees 7-2 for their fifth win in a row on Monday night.  Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder had home runs, as seven different Tigers drove in a run and all nine starters had a hit.  Game two of the series is Wednesday night at Comerica Park.
