ST. CLAIR RIVERFEST FEATURES FREE MUSIC AND FUN

Free music was a main draw of the St. Clair Riverfest this weekend as multi-platinum selling bands, Smash Mouth and the Gin Blossoms took the floating stage in Palmer Park where large crowds filled the park's grounds and danced and sang along to their favorite 90's hits.  While performing chart toppers such as "Hey Jealousy", "Until I Fall Away" and "Found Out About You", the Gin Blossoms lead singer, Robin Wilson, interacted with fans talking about his Detroit birthplace and his love of Michigan coney dogs.  Smash Mouth frontman, Steve Harwell and the band performed fan favorites "All Star", "Why Can't We Be Friends" and "Walkin' on the Sun" among others.  The festival also featured fun and games for families including a carnival, laser light show and the internationally known Classic K-9 Show featuring top dogs and trainers from the United States and Canada.  The Riverfest kicked off the city's top weekend event that took place Sunday, the St. Clair Classic Offshore Powerboat Race which brought boat racers and race fans from all over the 50 states.  The powerboats charged down the river during the afternoon competition while vying for titles in the Great Lakes Silver Cup Series and the Offshore Super Series.
