CITY REVIEWS STUDIO 1219, MAINSTREET

It is a week off this week for Port Huron City Council but there will be no shortage in news from city hall. A special session Friday of the Downtown Development Authority addresses the future of Studio 1219 which is being restructured. Last month saw the art incubator's first full time director's position vacated. The Authority has helped fund the purchase of the building and maintenance of the facility along with the Acheson Foundation and the Community Foundation of St. Clair County. Friday's meeting gets underway at 8:00 a.m. Meanwhile the City Manager's Office continues to deal with the question of Downtown Port Huron. The business group may be in the process of reverting back to a MainStreet organization. That would be one which seeks revitalization. Meetings, like one set for Thursday, are being held with interested groups and business leaders about that possibility.
