Justin Verlander allowed just four hits in eight innings of work and Jose Valverde tossed a 1-2-3 ninth as the Detroit Tigers opened a three game series with the Chicago White Sox with a 4-2 win on Friday night at Comerica Park.  Down 2-0 early the Tigers scored three runs in the third to take the lead for good and then added an insurance run in the seventh.  Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder, Delmon Young, and Austin Jackson picked up the RBI in the game.   Game two of the series is Saturday in Detroit.
