Max Scherzer allowed just one run and three hits over seven innings, while striking out nine, as the Tigers beat the Los Angeles Angels 5-1 on Thursday afternoon to take three out of four in their series.  Alex Avila and Miguel Cabrera hit home runs, Avila's was a two run shot.  Danny Worth and Jhonny Peralta each doubled in a run in the victory.  The Tigers face the first place White Sox tomorrow night at Comerica Park to open a three game weekend series.
