“HOT TOWN, SUMMER IN THE CITY”
Here it is again... that's the hot, humid weather, which could see records broken today for the daytime temperatures in Southeast Michigan. The first week of July brought saw many temperature records broken across the country, and Sara Schultz at the National Weather Service tells us like the last wave this one sees a ridge of high pressure helping to bring the heat. An Excessive Heat Warning in effect from this morning through this evening. Schultz says there is a slight chance for severe weather with showers and thunderstorms expected to cool things down for us tonight. As usual several local communities have cooling stations available today. The last heat wave was ended by storms that left thousands in the dark without power, plus downed tree limbs and branches. She says the rest of the summer is expected to stay hot, with the Climate Prediction Center saying temperatures are expected to stay above normal for us for the next three months.
