Acuarelas, in Cruising Class C, withdrew from the race shortly after midnight on Tuesday morning officially ending the 88th Mackinac Race and making the Pickel Boat, or last boat to finish the race, Alida at around 10:43 PM Monday. 91 year old Bernida stole the show, winning her class and first overall on the shore coarse. Windquest was the first boat to finish the race, while Natalie J was the overall winner on corrected time. 27 of the 28 local yachts that began the race were able to finish, JS3 (pronounced J-S Cubed) retired from the double-handed sailing group after starting. Among the others, eight will bring back flags from the Island, although none are for first place. Shape, Liberty, Boomerang, Margaret Rintoul IV, and Vaite all finished second in their respective classes, while Rowdy, Kismet, and Chippewa all finished third in their classes. Kismet was also third overall among the cruising class. All results are now official:
