USE OF FIREWORKS SNUFFED OUT EXCEPT ON HOLIDAYS

The party by fireworks users was short lived as City Council in Port Huron has decided to limit the use of state allowed fire crackers, roman candles and other low level displays to the day before, during, and day after a holiday. The decision follows similar moves by other cities where complaints from residents about the use of fireworks were numerous.  The state law relaxed rules on fireworks sales and use earlier this year. Marysville City Council is also reviewing possible changes to rules in that municipality. Currently the city only has a noise ordinance to use to control fireworks displays.
