While announcements about this week's Blue Water Fest activities are to be made in front of city council tonight some early fireworks are possible with the choosing of a new towing firm to be used by the City Police Department. Chief Michael Reaves will make the presentation about the choice based on competitive bids that were sent out earlier. Preferred Towing is the preferred choice over Don's Towing. Other action tonight includes the approval of new fireworks regulations which would be similar to other cities that have seen complaints issued after a state law eased restrictions. Before councilmembers are options to regulate hours year round or simply allow fireworks only around and on holidays.
