The Detroit Tigers scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth to pull out a 7-3 come from behind win over the Minnesota Twins on Thursday afternoon. After a third straight game delayed by rain, the Twins jumped out to a 3-0 lead by the fourth inning, knocking 12 hits off Tiger starter Rick Porcello. Darin Downs, in just his second game in the major leagues, after ten seasons in the minors, came in for the Tigers to settle things down and struck out five in three shutout innings of work. Octavio Dotel added over an inning of scoreless work to pick up the win. Miguel Cabrera had two RBI singles, including one that tied the game in the eighth inning. Prince Fielder followed with a three run home run that put Detroit ahead. Delmon Young added a home run after Fielder. Brennan Boesch also had an RBI double earlier in the game. The Tigers face Kansas City on Friday night at Comerica Park.
