The Detroit Tigers will send three players to this years All-Star Game in Kansas City. Prince Fielder will start for the American League at first base, making him the first ever Tigers to start the game at that position. Fielder, in his first season with the Tigers is hitting .294 with 12 home runs and 52 RBI. Third baseman Miguel Cabrera was named to the team as a reserve. Cabrera has 16 home runs and 62 RBI so far with a .315 batting average. Justin Verlander will also go to KC as one of the AL's pitchers. Verlander is 8-5 this season with 121 strikeouts in just under 124 innings pitched.
