With the ninth pick in the NBA draft the Detroit Pistons selected center Andre Drummond from Connecticut. The 6' 11 1/2" Drummond weighs in at 280 lbs and averaged 10 points a game in 34 games last season as a freshman. He had 10 double-doubles (at least 10 points and 10 rebounds in a game) and averaged 7.6 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game. In the second round of the draft the Piston selected Forward Khris Middleton from Texas A & M with the 39th pick overall. Middleton is 6-8 and 216 and averaged 13.2 points a game. With the 44th pick overall Detroit took guard Kim English from Missouri. English is 6-4 and 190 and scored 14.5 points a game and is considered an exceptional shooter. In other draft news, Michigan State star Draymond Green was taken 35th overall by the Golden State Warriors.
