ANNUAL GULL ISLAND CELEBRATION IS A HIT

Jobbie Nooner took place on and around Gull Island in Clay Township on Lake St. Clair Friday.  With great weather, the annual day of drinking and debauchery had a large crowd with about 3,000 boats anchored at the island.  According to the St. Clair County Sheriff, there were few injuries and the crowd was well-behaved.  One serious incident involved a man who was found face down in the water.   He was revived and taken to Beaumont Hospital.  He's expected to be fine, although may have a bad headache today.  Jobbie Nooner was created in the 1980's by area autoworkers looking to knock off of work early on a Friday to enjoy an afternoon of boating.  The annual party takes place in June and September each year.
