Webb Simpson won the US Open golf tournament on Sunday as his closest competitors collapsed down the stretch.  Simpson fished with a four day total of +1, one stroke better than two other golfers, one of whom, Graeme McDowell, had a chance to force a playoff until missing a birdie putt on 18.  Jim Furyk had been in or tied for the lead since Friday, but began to fall apart starting at 16 and finished at +3.
