State health officials say it's not too late to get vaccinated against the flu. In recent weeks, the Department of Community Health's Bureau of
Laboratories has seen an increase in the number of confirmed cases of influenza with over half of the cases in children. In light of these cases the DCH says getting vaccinated now will protect you before influenza peaks and throughout the season. The Health Department and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend that everyone 6 months and older get an annual flu vaccine.
