CHILLY FEST BUT NO SNOWMOBILE RACES
Planning on going to Port Huron Chilly Fest? Better plan to go this weekend. Downtown Port Huron and the Outlaw Snowmobile Drag Racers canceled the snowmobile races which were scheduled for the second weekend of Chilly Fest. With the big event being called-off, the other events and activities that were planned for the weekend of February 3rd have also been canceled. There is a chance of the snowmobile races to be rescheduled, but weather plays a key role in that possibility, according to Downtown Port Huron's Leann Peart. She says the event itself includes a lot of activities. The weather needs to be cold enough, for at least seven days for the track to be built. Another factor is the racers, who will be traveling to different cities and states for different races. If our weather finally permits the building of the snowmobile track, the racers in the circuit may be in a different area, making a reschedule of the event, very difficult. Port Huron Chilly Fest meanwhile still has a lot to offer, even without the snowmobile races. This weekend includes events like, the chili cook-off, horse and carriage rides, the Silver Stick Hockey Tournament, the fainting goats, and tons more for the entire family.
