Home Runs Doom Tigers

J.J. Hardy hit a two-run shot and Adam Jones hit a three-run shot to provide the Baltimore Orioles all the offense they would need on Tuesday night in a 5-2 win over the Tigers.  Matt Tuiasosopo hit a solo home run and Austin Jackson singled in another run for Detroit.  The final game of a three game series is set for Wednesday afternoon at Comerica Park.

Wings Extend Datsyuk

The Detroit Red Wings have locked up star Pavel Datsyuk to a three year contract extention worth $22.5 million.  The deal will keep Datsyuk in a Red Wings jersey through 2017.  Datsyuk is all ready in the top ten all time in career scoring in team history and led the Wings with 49 points this past season.

Scherzer Great Again

Max Scherzer is the first Tiger pitcher to start a season 10-0 since George Mullin in 1909, after the Tigers beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-1 on Monday night at Comerica Park.  Scherzer went six innings, allowing one run and scattering seven hits, with ten strike outs.  Drew Smyly pitched three scoreless in relief to earn a save.  Omar Infante lead a 14 hit attack with four hits,

Tigers Take Down Twins

Doug Fister did not allow a hit until the sixth inning as the Detroit Tigers beat the Minnesota Twins 5-2 on Sunday.  Torii Hunter hit his 300th career home run and drove in three runs for the Tigers, while Austin Jackson added a home run and two RBI.  The Tigers are home Monday night to take on Baltimore.
