RIVER RESTORATION WORK WILL START FROM SCRATCH

Restoration work began last month on a one mile stretch of St. Clair River shoreline along Port Huron's south side that'll be transformed in the Blue Water River Walk, with Randy Maiers at the local Community Foundation noting that an assessment released last week indicates that after 100 years of abuse the land had become an industrial wasteland, and is presently empty of all native habitat. Maiers says with the major funding having been secured all parties involved confident that the habitat can successfully be restored.
