As of the first of the month the Port Huron Museum and the organization that runs the Feast of the Ste. Claire has decided to part ways. The Memorial Day weekend Feast will continue in future years but the committee that organizes it will go out on their own to concentrate on the re-enactment side of the event. Those wishing to participate are encouraged to contact Chairmen Harry and Rose Burgess at 810-982-3569. Museum Director Susan Bennett says the move comes with mixed feelings but will mean more time for her staff to concentrate on other areas of interest including a new Hoptoberfest event that takes place October 19th involving transportation to and activities at the Huron Lightship, Thomas Edison Depot, and the Fort Gratiot Light Station.
