LONG TIME BROADCASTER JOHN HILL REMEMBERED

John Hill....radio personality...moderator....promoter....you could easily have called him the voice of Port Huron...has passed away.  Word of his death yesterday came as a surprise by many.  Hill worked at radio station WPHM for 35-years providing information every morning to thousands of listeners....he also was instrumental in key broadcasts of the International Day Parade and Mackinac Yacht races.  The station, once called WTTH, was owned by three different organizations during his career. Hill also taught at the Saint Clair County Community College and worked even in retirement with such endeavors as promoting Acheson Ventures events and local tourist locations in the Discover the Blue campaign. Arrangements include visitation hours Thursday from 2-to-4 and 6-to-8 p.m. at the Smith Family Funeral Home North which is located at 1525 Hancock. The funeral service is set for 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Stephen Church.  Hill was 69.
