BUDGET TIME FOR PORT HURON CITY COUNCIL
City councils in Port Huron and Marysville take a likely final stab at budgets, for the next fiscal year, in regular meetings set for Tuesday Night. The rare Tuesday meetings follow Monday’s Memorial Day holiday. Port Huron’s bottom line for the general fund rings in at just over 20-million dollars and represents a lot of cost savings with fewer employee positions. Consolidation of departments viewed by both cities in attempts at balancing the figures. Port Huron also hears a report from Patti Samar, Chair of the McMorran Civic Center Authority. A half dozen property demolition items are also before the Port Huron council this evening. Port Huron’s meeting gets underway, at 7:00 p.m., and Marysville starts their session at 7:30.
