DDA, goal setting meeting to take place today

city-council-5-23-16-2

Both Port Huron City Council and the Downtown Development Authority are scheduled to meet tonight. On the agenda for the D.D.A. is a discussion about this upcoming summer’s Blue Water Festival. D.D.A. members will also get an update on the former Art Van property in Downtown Port Huron. The building is owned by the St. Clair County Board of Commissioners and several ideas have been pitched by City Manager James Freed on what to do with the structure. Plans for the long-vacant downtown building over the past several years have included a concert venue, parking, and a farmers market style building. The D.D.A. will meet at 8:30am Tuesday morning. Tonight, Port Huron City Council will hold a special session meeting to set goal for the upcoming fiscal year. That meeting will take place at 6pm at the Port Huron Municipal Office Center. Those with ideas to benefit the city can share their suggestions with the City Clerk’s office, or, send an email to CommunityComments@porthuron.org.
