The bitter cold temps can be dangerous. State police warning residents throughout Michigan to take precautions, especially when temperatures fall below zero. Stay indoors if possible. If you must go outside, wear protective gear, such as hats, mittens, gloves, scarf and a warm coat. Watch for signs of hypothermia – which include uncontrollable shivering, memory loss, drowsiness, and exhaustion. Also, check on family, friends, neighbor, and pets who are at risk and may need additional assistance. A wind chill advisory is in effect through noon today.
