One injured in Port Huron shooting

The Port Huron Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 3100 block of Electric Avenue Monday evening. Officers were dispatched to an apartment in the Village Manor complex around 11:30 last night on reports of shots fired. Police say a 38 year old Port Huron man forced his way into a woman’s apartment in what is being described by police as an attempted assault.  The woman’s sister, who was visiting from Detroit, used a handgun to defend her and her sister, shooting the suspect in the leg. He was taken to Lake Huron Medical Center for treatment of injuries. The woman who fired the weapon was also taken into custody for being a felon in possession of a firearm. The shooting remains under investigation by the Port Huron Police Criminal Investigative Division.

An overnight shooting Monday  in the City of Port Huron has left one injured. According to the Port Huron Police Department, the incident occurred in the 3100 block of Electric Avenue.
