Political candidates and their supporters will be making a final push for votes before polls open tomorrow morning. Gubernatorial candidates Bill Schuette and Gretchen Whitmer spent the weekend criss-crossing the state to rally supporters to get out to vote. Whitmer will be campaigning in Grand Rapids, Lansing and Metro Detroit today. Clerks across the state have reported an increase in requests for absentee ballots. Political analysts say voter turnout will be key in many races and the three statewide proposals. In the race for governor, latest polling has Democrat Gretchen Whitmer leading Republican Bill Schuette by double-digits. Polls open at 7am tomorrow and close at 8pm.
