An over 130 year old locomotive will be getting some much needed attention. The D.B. Harrington, an original engine of the Port Huron and Northwestern Railway, was taken out of storage at the Port Huron Museum and delivered to St. Clair County Community College’s metal shop Thursday. The project is a joint venture of the Port Huron Museum, SC4, and the Community Foundation of St. Clair County. Heading up the restoration project is local historian T.J. Gaffney, who tells WPHM the engine was one of the first in the Thumb area. After the engine is restored, Gaffney says it will be put on display at a public location to be determined. The project is being funded by a $25,000 grant from Canadian National Railway.
