City Manager James Freed will be getting a $12,000 raise to his annual salary, which got approval at Monday night’s regular session meeting of the Port Huron City Council. Mayor Pauline Repp says the 11% hike comes after the council looked at the compensation of city managers in other cities that are a similar size to Port Huron, such as Jackson and Bay City, finding that Freed was near the bottom.

Mayor Repp also announced to WPHM yesterday morning that she intends to run for re-election for Mayor of Port Huron. Her two year term is up this November.
