The loss of Canadian visitors already being felt in Marine City after downriver ice washed out the causeway for the Blue Water Ferry in Sombra, Ontario. Marine City Mayor Dave Vandenbossche spoke to WPHM’s Paul Miller yesterday, says estimates range between three and four million dollars to repair the damage, and the ferry may be unable to operate for over a year. Vandenbossche tells WPHM both U.S. and Canadian authorities are working with the Blue Water Ferry company to provide funding and expedite any regulatory processes.  Many of Marine City’s Downtown businesses rely on Canadian visitors for their livelihood.
