The Township of Fort Gratiot is the recipient of an over $2,000 grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural affairs. Supervisor Jorja Baldwin says the township, in partnership with locally based Elephant Works Studio, will develop three art experiences for this spring and summer as a way to strengthen Fort Gratiot Township’s cultural understanding. The MEDC states, “A vibrant arts and cultural scene is important to strong communities and Michigan’s excellent quality-of-life, and ultimately, to Michigan’s economy. MCACA strengthens arts and culture in Michigan by increasing its visibility; supporting arts education; encouraging new, creative and innovative works of art; and broadening cultural understanding. More details on the events are expected to be released soon.
