Premium gas not worth the premium price

If you’re topping off your tank with Premium gas, experts from AAA of Michigan say you may be wasting your money. The auto club has recently released report that shows paying-up for premium at the pump may not be worth the extra cents. AAA tested a variety of vehicles that recommended, but did not require the use of gas that is 91 octane or higher. The results concluded that fuel economy improvements from the premium gas did not offset the potential extra cost to purchase premium gasoline. Further more, AAA found no benefit to using premium gasoline in a vehicle that only requires regular-grade fuel. The auto club says only vehicles that specifically require the higher grade gas should fuel their tanks with it.
