Marysville superintendent to be interviewed for Alabama job

Marysville Superintendent Shawn Wightman is a finalist for a similar position at an Alabama School district. Wightman will be one of four candidates interviewed for superintendent of the Vestavia Hills School District in the suburbs of Birmingham, Alabama. The district has over 6,000  students and 750 faculty members. Officials from the Alabama school district confirmed to WPHM on Friday that Wightman is a finalist. Interviews for the Vestavia Hills position will occur in January. A call to Marysville Public Schools has not been returned. Wightman has been superintendent of Marysville since 2014.
